Questions
Questions we get asked
How can we engage the firm?
You can hire us for a fixed-scope project, keep us on retainer, send us a single task such as one contract review, instruct us to represent you in court, or book training for your staff. Implementation support can be added to any of these.
Do you represent clients in court?
Yes. Two of our lawyers hold defence attorney licences and handle the court work themselves, from first assessment through pleadings and evidence to appeal and enforcement. Some matters fall outside the licence, and we will tell you when that is the case.
Which languages can I use?
Dari, Pashto or English, in meetings, in writing and in the documents we prepare for you. We read and research in Arabic where a matter calls for it.
Do you act for foreign organisations and investors?
Yes, and a good share of our work is exactly that: setting up a business, licensing, due diligence, structuring an investment and drafting the contracts. International organisations, development partners and INGOs are regular clients.
How is confidentiality handled?
What you tell us stays with us from the first conversation, whether or not you go on to instruct us. We check for conflicts before taking anything on, and where one client is a company and another is the person running it, the files are kept apart.
What quality control applies to deliverables?
We agree at the start what you will get and to what standard. The work is done by someone with the right expertise and read by a second person here before it goes out, with legal references and calculations checked.
Do you use AI tools in your work?
For research and first drafts, sometimes. Nothing leaves this office until a qualified person has gone through it.
Not sure which one you need?
Describe the situation and we will tell you where it fits. No charge for that.
